I believe that it is important to make a good relationship with others in any situation, especially when we lead people. This thought came from one of the experience that I was the leader of committee.
When I was in junior high school, I was the leader of committee. The term was only one year, but I think I grown up as a person through this experience. At first, to tell the truth, I had a bad relationship with vice leader. The vice leader hated me, because he had wanted to be a leader for a long time. The problem was that we could not cooperate with each other. I tried to do the work by myself at first. However, it was too hard to do. I had concluded that I asked him to help me. At that time, I thought, “I need his help. We should corporate with each other because we are the team.” After this, of course, we turned into an argument sometimes, but each time we talked each other’s perspective. End of the term, we arrived at a working relationship. At that time, we could solve the problem together. It was beneficial for everyone.
From this experience, I learned how important the positive relationship is. Also, I learned the leader need to not only lead but also facilitate. The leader should assign roles and responsibilities to members rightly. When all member of the team are able to take advantage of their skills, it will be team power.
I learned a lot of things through my experiences, but it is not enough. Therefore, I would like to learn more through this class. I’m glad to have the chance to study about this.
Hi Shizuka,
返信削除Thank you for your entry.
There are two things that I liked particularly about your experience:
1) That you asked the vice leader to help you, and after that the situation improved. Asking for help can be a great way to involve others and make them feel important.
2)That you realized that different members have different skills to offer and that "When all member of the team are able to take advantage of their skills, it will be team power."
